A funny color theory lesson

So I was looking through my swatch notebook and something funny caught my eye. The colors for marigolds and goldenrod are basically the same.... but not on the same materials.

Top left is silk, top right is cotton. Below that is wool, and the bottom is cotton with soymilk.
